# Flowtask Profile Settings: Name, Photo, and Password

> Update your display name, upload a profile photo, set or change your password, and connect or disconnect your Google account in Flowtask.

Your Flowtask profile controls how you appear to yourself and your team, and how you sign in. From profile settings you can update your display name, change your avatar, manage your password, and connect or disconnect your Google account.

## Editing your display name

Your display name appears throughout Flowtask — in task assignments, comments, and the sidebar header.

    Click your avatar or initials at the bottom of the left sidebar to open the account menu.

  <Step title="Go to Profile settings">
    Select **Profile settings** from the menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your new name">
    Click into the **Display name** field and type your updated name.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Click **Save** to apply your new display name immediately.
  </Step>

## Uploading a profile photo

A profile photo helps teammates recognize you at a glance. Flowtask accepts JPG and PNG files.

    Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and select **Profile settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click your current avatar">
    Click the avatar image or placeholder at the top of the profile form. A file picker will open.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select an image file">
    Choose a JPG or PNG file from your device. For best results, use a square image at least 256 × 256 pixels.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload the photo">
    Confirm the selection. Your new photo is uploaded and displayed immediately across Flowtask.

## Changing your password

If you signed up with an email address and password, you can update your password at any time from the Security section of your profile.

    Click your avatar in the sidebar footer and select **Profile settings**.

  <Step title="Go to Security">
    Scroll to the **Security** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your current password">
    Type your existing password in the **Current password** field.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your new password">
    Type and confirm your new password in the provided fields, then click **Update password**.

## Adding a password

If you originally signed up using Google, your account does not have a password by default. You can add one to enable email/password login alongside your Google account.

    Click your avatar in the sidebar footer and select **Profile settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Go to Security">
    Scroll to the **Security** section. You will see an **Add password** option instead of a current-password prompt.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a new password">
    Enter and confirm your chosen password, then click **Add password**. You can now sign in with either your email/password or Google.

## Linking your Google account

Connecting Google to your Flowtask account lets you sign in with Google in addition to your email and password.

    Click your avatar in the sidebar footer and select **Profile settings**.

  <Step title="Go to Connected accounts">
    Scroll to the **Connected accounts** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link Google">
    Click **Link Google** and complete the Google sign-in prompt. Once authorized, your Google account is connected.

## Unlinking your Google account

You can disconnect Google from your Flowtask account at any time from the Connected accounts section.

  If you signed up with Google and have not set a password, you must add a password before you can unlink Google.

    Click your avatar in the sidebar footer and select **Profile settings**.

  <Step title="Go to Connected accounts">
    Scroll to the **Connected accounts** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Unlink Google">
    Click **Unlink Google**. The option is only available after you have added a password to your account, ensuring you always have a way to sign in.
